High-intensity light-emitting diodes have started replacing older incandescent bulbs and lamps in numerous applications. LED technology offers many advantages other kinds of light generation: it uses less power, lights are far more strong, it is flexible and it’s better to make LED lights water-resistant. It is for the reasons stated that purchasing and installing an LED pool light is a good move.LED pool lights are routinely built to fit the same existing housings the older categories of pool lights fit into. Most of the LED lights are sold with adapter kits to fit the type of wet niche you have in your swimming pool. This makes the upgrade a lot easier. Even if you do not have a light housing in your pool, there isn’t any need to do pricey, intrusive adjustments to your pool wall. Because of the relatively low profile the LED lights have, there are models that are made to glue straight onto your pool wall, with the minimum damage and fuss.
The typical design of pool lights that incorporate LED’s, is an ordinary round lens with a plastic back plate, which homes the printed circuit board the LED’s attach to. Many of these lights have electronics that regulate the power flow to the individual LED’s. Lights can have a mixture of different color LED’s in banks. By controlling which banks get power at the same time, many alternative color shades can be achieved by one pool light.
While LED pool lights aren’t as bright as halogen pool lights, illumination of larger pools is possible by synchronizing multiple LED lights in the same pool.Typically, these lights would be positioned along the same wall, so as to divide the area of the pool into equal sections.LED pool lights are far easier to water-proof than any other sort of pool light. This is thanks to the fact the LED’s never need replacing, so the pricey electronics can be resin-sealed. Only the low-voltage contacts need to be shielded from water intrusion, and that can be done with minimum effort. Whether or not the connection is compromised by water, the LED’s will not malfunction, they simply switch off.
LED lights operate at a lower temperature than incandescent or halogen bulbs, so there’s less probability of condensation forming within the lens, or around the conductive elements of the lights. It is high temperature that causes rubber seals to perish faster underwater, causing water intrusion and lamp failure.LED’s work off low voltage, so in the case of swimming pool lights, they get power from safety transformers that put out 12V AC. This makes it really safe to use underwater, since there’s very little risk of anybody getting surprised due to insulation failure of conductors. Many LED pool lights work together with electronic transmitters that are operated via radio control. This makes it actually convenient for pool owners to switch on their pool lights, without using wet hands on breakers on a circuit board.

Many LED lights can be connected to the same transformer, dependent on its rating and power output, so your LED pool light can change colour, modes, and be synchronized with other LED lights – these can be in the pool, in water features, or in your garden.
